Guru Purnima

Guru Purnima, the festival which celebrates the knowledge and wisdom of a Teacher! Guru Purnima is celebrated with utmost reverence in Mathura and Vrindavan. It is one of the most important festivals in the Hindu calendar. It holds the same significance as Teacher’s Day only that Guru Purnima recognizes our Spiritual Teachers/Sages as well, for they also show us the right path.

Govardhan Puja

Govardhana-puja is the day Krsna chose to cut off Indra’s ego. Thus He preached to all the vraja-vasis to worship only Govardhana since it provided everything necessary for the cows. So Nanda Maharaja arranged for the puja of Govardhana and the vrajavasis made huge amounts of many different preparations to be offered to Govardhana like rice, puris, chapatis, halwa, sweet bread, sweet rice, rasagollas, all types of milk sweets, etc.

Bhandara Seva

In Hinduism, the glory of charity is limitless and charity has a special significance. Food donation is a great donation. And according to the scriptures, if there is any biggest donation, then it is food donation. This world is made of food, that is, from food all the creations of the world are maintained. Food is the only thing in the world that satisfies the body as well as our soul. That is why it is said in the scriptures that if you want to donate something, then donate food.

Chappan Bhog

Food has always been an integral part of any celebration in India. Chappan Bhog is one such pious ritual which comprises of 56 food items that are offered to Lord Krishna with love and devotion on auspicious occasions like Janmashtami, Gowardhan Puja (Annakut), Purushottam Maas (Adhik Maas)
